Sittin' on Your Fence. Well the roses that I sent you, you've just thrown across your lawn, Your telephone is off the hook and your curtains there all drawn, Oh but I can't get enough of you, So I'll just sit here on your fence. That angelic little look of yours, you know the sweetness of your smile, You got the temper of a She-Devil, Oh girl you drivin' me wild, Oh but I can't get enough of you, So I'll just sit here on your fence Well now you can holler girl shout and scream and drowned me in abuse, Oh but I'll sit here on your fence Yeah I'm sittin' on your fence, sittin' on your fence, Well I've been here from dusk till' dawn. I ain't goin' yet. No cos' I can't get enough of you, So I'll just sit here on your fence, Well like this… (HARMONICA) + (GUITAR) Well that night when we were dancin', you slapped me round the face, You poured your drink all over me an' you left me in disgrace, Oh but I just looked at you and smiled, Oh girl, you’re drivin' me wild Well now you can holler girl shout and scream and drowned me in abuse, Oh but I'll sit here on your fence Well like this… (HARMONICA) + (GUITAR) ''Authentic Country music, yeah Black Country that is'' Well now Saturday night it's here again, and it's the local dance, We got twenty or more sittin' out here waitin' to take their chance, Oh well, we're all out here doin' fine, We're all drinking, singing, having a good time Well now you can holler girl shout and scream and drown me in abuse, Oh but I'll just sit here on your fence, Well now you can holler girl shout and scream and drowned me in abuse, Oh but I'll just sit here on your F-E-N-C-E (HARMONICA run down to end). WORDS and MUSIC. O'Dea / Carter. 1990.

Singapore Joe Well Singapore Joe's got a one man show teaching us his culture, You know, living in the west caught up with him fast, He lost it all to Bacardi and Coke, Let it go, let it go. Well he once told me that he broke a girl's heart and sailed away across the ocean, Well she found him out and she punched him up, He said ''son I'm still wearing those scars'', Let it go, let it go, let it go. (Chorus) Well he told me a tale of near and far and I've never heard any better, They told of love, fast women fast car's and… Big bucks, hard luck, well they told of life, Well my food for thought is to look back at a part of his life. Well the finest wines he said he'd drunk to wash down a Chicken Chow Mein, Well I took that with a pinch of salt, But there's story's when I've wished I was there, Let it go, let it go, let it go. (Chorus) Well now that your not around no more, now you've shot your lead, Well I hope your somewhere giving them hell, And keeping one step ahead of the law, Let it go, let it go, let it go. (Chorus) (Ad lib to the end with) Singapore Joe, Singapore Joe, He's gotta' one - man - travelling show, He ain't gonna' work no railroad he ain't gonna' do no white man's laundry, He's gonna' get out on the road, doing what he knows is the best, Hey Joe, Hey! where you going with that gun in your hand. WORDS and MUSIC. Gary O'Dea. 1994.

Searching for Sal Grabbed my first Burrito on the way to meet a friend, Done two weeks of travellin' the California conveyor belt, The wife got cramp, the kids got sick, Oh my what have I done to Mick, Well since I've been home I've been searching for Sal. The Bay was everything to me, you know a place that I could roam, Between the books of the City Lights you know I'd happily make my home, Well the sand swept dunes of Monterey, They looked so pretty to me that day, But since I've been home I've been searching for Sal. (Chorus) Well I'm searching for Sal, Yeah I'm searching for Sal, Yeah Sal, Well I'm on my way again, take me home, take me home now. Well with a beat up old guitar I walked the Campbell railroad track, And on the corner of the street I sat and the sun burnt on my back, You'd got the Denny's Diners and the Seven 11's, Well I think I've died and gone to heaven, I'm travellin' round just searching for Sal. (Chorus) GUITAR PIANO Now I'm home and looking back at my time on the road, Well it was always a dream to me - Dream On a song I wrote, We'd got the Santa Cruz surfer's shack, Well there was me and old Jack Kerouac, Travellin' round just searching for Sal, Laying on a beach just searching for Sal, And even when I go to work I'm searching for Sal, Yeah Sal, Well I'm on my way again, take me home, take me home now. WORDS and MUSIC. Gary O'Dea. 1997.

Big City Blue. Louie been travellin' alone at night, He said ''it's the best way to see the city so clear'', He knows so much for one so young, He's gonna' make his move, gonna get out of town this year, Yeah cos' he's seen the push and the shove, He's seen em' grab at it all, He knows that sooner or later he'll feel the fear. We got Marcel and Dixie you know they want it all, Well they're gonna have their freedom gonna make their cake then eat it, Well their good at giving you what you need, What ever your hunger well they know how to feed it, Cos' they got the grain and the seed, They got the pill that cures, And they know that sooner or later you'll be at their door. Well ain't it hard on the scene, You play the cards that you’re dealt, find a way of tapping right into the seam. HARMONICA GUITAR To live were the streets are paved with gold, ''It's no disgrace to be poor it's just a little unhandy for me'', We got the fast lane teeming, they were dropping like fly’s, Well if you dance while you hustle, You'll make yourself a killing tonight, Get in on the push and the shove, Get in on the dollar and yen, Cos' when tomorrow comes calling it'll all start over again, Yeah tomorrow comes calling and it all starts over again. J-A-Z-Z. J-A-Z-Z. Oh don't push us when we're HOT. Al Capone's guns don't argue with me, Al Capone's guns don't argue with me. WORDS and MUSIC. Gary O'Dea. 1998.
